2023 The Estates Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville

Sourced from the iconic To Kalon Vineyard in the heart of the Oakville District AVA, this Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the exceptional pedigree of one of Napa Valley's most revered vineyard sites. Located on prime bench land, the vineyard’s well-drained, low fertility soils and optimal sun exposure consistently produce fruit with remarkable concentration, complexity, and varietal expression. The result is a wine that captures the power, elegance, and unmistakable character of Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2023 Napa Valley vintage was defined by a long, temperate growing season and abundant sunshine, creating ideal conditions for gradual, even ripening. This extended hang time allowed the grapes to develop exceptional flavor concentration while preserving vibrant acidity and balance. The resulting wine showcases freshness, purity, and refinement, offering a classic expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with depth, structure, and age-worthy elegance.

VINEYARD

THE VINEYARD: The fruit for this wine comes primarily from our legendary To Kalon Vineyard, which is located on prime benchland in the Oakville District appellation. The well-drained, low-fertility soils and optimal sun exposure enable the development of rich, complex flavors, impeccable phenolic maturity, and beautiful varietal character.

THE VINTAGE: The 2023 vintage in Napa Valley was exceptional. Consistent, mild weather throughout the season gave us one of the longest growing seasons in over a decade. An abundance of sunshine allowed grapes to ripen slowly and develop maximum flavor concentration while maintaining great acidity—leading to a wine with freshness, purity, and elegance.
