VINEYARD
THE VINEYARD: The fruit for this wine came exclusively from our To Kalon Vineyard, which is located on prime benchland in the Oakville appellation. The well-drained, low-fertility soils and optimal sun exposure here enable the development of rich, complex flavors and impeccable phenolic maturity.
THE VINTAGE: The 2022 growing season was mild, dry, and very pleasant through August. Temperatures surged for a week in August. Our grape-growing and winemaking teams worked nonstop to keep the vines healthy and happy until temperatures cooled. The fruit was harvested by hand and the final blend was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (100% new).
TASTING NOTES
Aromas: Ripe purple plum rounded out by notes of violet and toast
Flavors: Fresh blue and purple fruit with dark spice, violet, and nice oak
Body: Velvety and polished with a fresh, juicy character and dense, round tannins
