THE VINEYARD: Nearly half of this year’s blend is sourced from the deep, well-drained soils of Oakville, providing gorgeously dark, supple wines with fine tannins. Stags Leap District, Oak Knoll, Yountville, and Rutherford all find their place in the bottle, with the varying mesoclimates and soils of these vineyards integrating seamlessly.
THE VINTAGE: The 2019 vintage could be called a winemaker’s dream. A long summer brought each block to its ideal ripeness. Our grapes were hand-harvested before aging 18 months in French oak barrels (21% new). The introduction of other key Bordeaux varieties to this wine lets the structure, balance, and flavor profile truly shine.
