Pts. JebDunnuck.com "There are a tiny 100 cases of the 2019 Red Blend Reserve To Kalon, which is an interesting blend of Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, mostly from the Monastery Block in the To Kalon Vineyard. Beautiful red and blue fruits as well as lots of floral and spicy notes define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, seamless, and elegant on the palate. It's not a blockbuster but shines for its balance, purity, and finesse. It's beautifully done." - Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com, February 16, 2023
Pts. James Suckling "A wonderful nose of red and black currants, black cherries, coffee and rooibos tea. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that are drenched in delicious red and black fruit. Complex and structured. Terrific length. This needs a little more time to come together, but will age for as long as you can resist popping the cork. Best after 2025." - James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, September 21, 2022
Pts. Wine Advocate "A Bordeaux-style blend from the winery's portion of the famous To Kalon Vineyard, the 2019 Red Wine To Kalon Vineyard The Reserve features attractive scents of cherries, suede, baking spices and vanilla. It's full-bodied, rich, velvety and even a bit open-knit, maybe a touch coarse on the finish. It's flavorful and easy to drink, but it doesn't seem to have the concentration or structure to age more than about 8 to 10 years." - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, September 15, 2022
